Santa Ponsa Majorca

About
Santa Ponsa is a typical, Spanish holiday resort. The town is quite small and the beaches are great with clean white sand. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. The nightlife is very good and offers various theme bars, clubs and restaurants. Perfect for the lively holiday.

Nightlife

  • Caramba is a large club with live entertainment suitable for families and groups.
  • The nighclub Fama with it's two dancefloors is a popular venue with locals and tourists alike. Weekends can get very bust due to the Spanish attendance. Music policy is European and Spanish.
  • Shots Bar as you can imagine is a great place for shooters and cocktails. It's a great place to start the night and shoot a few balls at the pool-table
  • There are plenty bars offering entertainment for adults and children.
  • Electric Beach is not a beach, but family bar which even serves non-alcoholic cocktails.
  • The geordie pub 'Canny Lad' is lively and welcoming. Why Aye!
  • The Glasgow is owned by Glaswegians, so they know what the Scots tourists are looking for. Food is also served, though haggis, disapointingly, is not on the menu!

Beach Life

  • The main finely grained sandy beach has a shady pine treed area at the back edge ideal for the hot, sunny days. Watersports include; jet-bikes, windsurfing pedalos. There is a roped off area which is exclusively for paddling and swimming. On Sundays the Mallorcans also like to sunbathe here, so it can get oevercrowded.
  • There are smaller coves further round the bay, these are not easily accessable by the unfit and elderly.

Shopping

  • The town boasts plenty of traditional and souvenir shops. Leather and perfumes are cheap.
  • For the trendy, a visit to the Lacoste shop is a must for designer clothes at low prices. Sales start as early as June, so get the cards at the ready!
  • There is a market in nearby Andratx every Wednesday morning. Buses run regularily from the town center. Lace, leather and costume jewellery are good value.
